Save my Mother Project

  1. We have been running a cervical cancer prevention and treatment programme since 2011 and have reached to over 12000 women and girls in the four districts we are working in. the programme is being done in partnership with the Female Cancer Foundation, SOS Children’s Villages Netherlands and the Government of Malawi.
  2. Currently, the focus of the programme is to advocate for upscaling of cervical cancer screening and treatment by government through instituting a national screen and treating campaign (every year).

Closure of Medical Centres

  1. Following, Medical Centre assessments, in 2014 a recommendation was made to close the 2 medical centres in Blantyre and Lilongwe. Following the closure, the Board of Trustees recommended that the facilities could be run as clinics by willing private providers under a lease agreement. On this priority was given to staff. Management is also looking into using extra building as of ces.
  2. We intend to work in close collaboration with other health service providers to ensure children and care givers we are supporting receive quality health services.
